I just finished watching this video which shows the stunning scenery of Yosemite National Park in California, USA. As expected, the views are fantastic, but what the filmographers over at ‘Project Yosemite’ did was capture the various views utilizing time-lapse photographic methods using high-end cameras. The whole film was covered over a 10 month period, and the outcome is overwhelming. Take a look at the video and screenshots below…
Project Yosemite is a time-lapse video project set in Yosemite National Park and shot by Colin Delehanty and Sheldon Neill. We started it in January 2012 after meeting through Vimeo. The idea for the project came to us during our first overnight trip to Half Dome. We’ve been working together since then to capture and share our experiences in Yosemite National Park. National Geographic – Yosemite National Park
In a high-country meadow two hikers crouch near the edge of a mirroring lake and watch a pika as it harvests blades of grass for a nest deep within a huge rock pile. When they resume walking, there is no other person in sight for as far as they can see. And on this sparkling summer’s day, the view seems endless.
In the valley’s crowded mall, families stroll by, eating ice cream, dodging bicycles. People pile in and out of buses. Shoppers hunt for souvenirs. Kids hang around a pizza place. Can you remember my popular post Top 10 Secret Doorways? Well, here’s another one I just discovered. According to Wikipedia, the doorway is located on the “Huangshan” (which means “Yellow Mountain”) in the southern Anhui province in eastern China. Spectacular, don’t you think?
Redhead Snow Scene by Flickr user 小猫王 – or “Cats Eye View”. He states “…dedicated to Weng Keong, whose efforts in Victoriana are very commendable”. I’m unsure what the photo is really all about, but it’s great don’t you think?
