The Stockholm County Metro Subway in Sweden is quite an architectural marvel; I think you’ll agree. The subway system has 100 uniquely-designed stations, with 47 underground and 53 above ground level. After occasionally traveling on the boring, non-decorated London Tube, I can attest to how much I admire this stunning architecture. From painted tunnels, rainbows, red walls and mood-lit spaces, this “subway art” is simply astonishing…

This colorful sculpture work was craftily created by Chilean sculptor/artist, Serena Garcia Dalla Venezia. She has created this set of works (which I have chosen a selection from to form the gallery below) by stuffing fabric orbs or ‘balls’ to form intricate and fascinating patterns to form textile artwork…
Wow! I’m sure that most of us haven’t seen any type of balloon models like this before. Japanese balloon artist and sculptor Masayoshi Matsumoto has created some masterpieces with model balloons. Up until now, the most intricate Balloon Animal that I had seen was a dodgy-looking giraffe! As can be seen in the balloon galley below, Matsumoto has expertly crafted a multi-colored iguana, an orange T-Rex Dinosaur, a Hermit Crab and even an intricate Millipede (or caterpillar?). I’m super excited to show you guys my new creative business cards made out of crayon, for when I really want to make an impression! I love thinking of fun business card ideas – in 2011 was the start of my business coins, and in 2013 I created out of the box business cards. I think these ones are my favourite – they really capture my passion to be creative in professional ways.

These sneaker 3D renderings were a personal project ‘experimenting with colour, surface and intricate pattern making with yarns’; created by UK-based Illustrator, Chris LaBrooy (see previous).

As a side-note—I think the way that the ‘yarn’ is squashed together looks a bit like a cross-section of a brain, or even intestines! Or is it just me? These wonderfully-intricate coloured fishing nets are created and constructed by artist, Janet Echelman. Drawing inspiration on a trip to India as a Fulbright Scholar, she saw that some fishermen in the village of Mahabalipuram were using nets of high quality of strength. For some reason, she had a creative idea to somehow suspend nets like the ones she saw, in the air — in the sky!

Since this trip to India earlier in her career, Echelman has travelled around the globe installing these net sculptures at varied locations. Take a look at the gallery below, I think you’ll be pleasantly amazed…
If you haven’t seen any of Glennz Tees Designs before (previously), then prepare to be amazed and to laugh! Glenn Jones, the designer of these illustrations, has a very unique illustrative style that combines simplistic line-art, punchy-colour and pure imagination. If I were to summarise Glennz Tees in one work, it would be “quirky”…
