Red Riding Hood and the VW Camper Van [VIDEO]

Check out this very unusual animation by Swedish designer, Tomas Nilsson. It’s hard to explain the unique nature of this video (shown right after the screenshots). Basically, it’s a very analytical interpretation of the classic Red Riding Hood fairy tale. The story is expertly dissected into informational blocks, and it’s fascinating and entertaining to watch. I particularly found the scene of the fairy tale wolf being shot through the brain. Oh yes…

See The Housing Market Spiraling Out Of Control

Beeple (AKA Mike Winkelmann) asks you to “watch the American housing market spiral out of control” in his new video, Subprime. Mike is a graphic designer from Appleton, Wisconsin, USA. In this short movie, see houses formed from humble beginnings only to be deconstructed and reassembled into grander abodes [video after the screenshots].

Big Buck Bunny 3D Animation

Big Buck Bunny is a 3D Animation created by the Blender Foundation. It’s a really colourful and humorous video, which can be watched at the end of this post.

“Big Buck Bunny tells the story of a giant rabbit with a heart bigger than himself. When one sunny day three rodents rudely harass him, something snaps… and the rabbit ain’t no bunny anymore! In the typical cartoon tradition he prepares the nasty rodents a comical revenge.”

Disturbingly-Brilliant Video for Memory Tapes

This fantastic music video is for a song entitled “Yes I Know” by Memory Tapes, and was created by videographer Najork. I reckon it’s both disturbingly-brilliant and strangely eerie. It starts off with a man in his apartment who places a hand over his face, only to peer through a hole in it. Then, he starts to fragment even further as the video progresses. To see what happens and to hear the track, take a look at the video after the screenshots.

Mind-Bending 3D Mandelbulb Fractals by Daniel White

Power side cut green image

Here’s a set of stunning Mandelbulb Fractals by Daniel White from Skytopia, a site dedicated to fractal imagery. A fractal is a “type of shape that yields (sometimes elaborate) detail forever, no matter how far you ‘zoom’ into it”. As can be seen, some amazing imagery can be built using this medium…

Mind Blowing Video by BRDG

This mind blowing video was created by Tokyo-based group, BRDG. It shows faces that seem to appear and disappear in a chaos of static interference. The soundtrack starts off quite erratically, but seems to get better as this short video progresses. Great stuff! Enjoy…
