Winner of Vimeo’s Best Animation Award

This short film was the winner of the best animation award at Vimeo’s very first film festival. The video is entitled “Between Bears”, and was animated by Eran Hilleli who lives in Tel Aviv.

It’s quite a slow-paced animation, and really well made. It starts off by showing a bear in the woods. For some reason, he shaves off all his fur and floats down a river (I think). A band of people follow a flock of birds (or similar flying creatures) to the bears final location. I’ll not spoil the ending, so I encourage you to watch the film at the end of this post…

This short animated movie was created by a graduate named Or Bar-el. He studied animation at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. This short movie, entitled “BEAT” was his graduation film—and was his very first attempt at 3d animation.
