The Intriguing 3D Work of Or Bar-el [VIDEO]

Intriguing 3d animation image

This short animated movie was created by a graduate named Or Bar-el. He studied animation at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. This short movie, entitled “BEAT” was his graduation film—and was his very first attempt at 3d animation. Or Bar-el uses various techniques, from pencils and acrylic media—and obviously including digital media, too. He also likes to experiment with a combination of photography and drawings.

I think the short movie is excellent. It starts off rather slow, but does so to set the scene. In short, it’s above a robot-type figure…made out of blocks in a block world. The figure is set to work in a grid, drawing rectangles like the rest of the figures. As the video progresses, the figure starts to have a flash of creativity—when his chest glows red. I don’t want to spoil the ending, so take a look at the movie to find out what happens…
